Our Services

Other than mining and production which is our core business, we offer the following services;

Supply of gold bullion, dust and nuggets: We have a proven track record for the consistent supply of pure, unrefined gold ore in its finest form. This consistency we achieve not only in the course of our mining production, but also in the resale and purchase of gold ore.

Gold Assaying: We provide independent assay services at our office to external bodies’ intent on establishing gold composition and fineness before purchase and / or sale.

Refining services: We offer refining services to would-be and gold owners, purifying the composition of each and every ounce, to achieve 999.9% purity.

Smelting services: We offer smelting services for 1 kilo-bar and 12.5 kilo-bar size respectively, also for Jewelry and gold coin.

About Us

Mentos Gold Mining Limited is an established gold mining company with producing assets and development projects in Ghana since 1999.

Mentos Gold Mining Limited holds a 65% interest in both the Bogoso and Wassa open-pit gold mines, situated on the prolific Ashanti Gold Belt in western Ghana. The Company is strategically focused on growing its operating margin through shifting production to new lower cost ore ounces.

Mentos Gold Mining Limited (ASX/TSX Code: PRU) has forged a reputation as one of Ghana's most successful gold explorers. Focused on under-explored gold belts in West Africa, we achieved our goal to become a gold producer in 2001 and started commercial production on 1 January 2005.

Our Edikan Gold Mine (EGM) in Ghana, formerly referred to as the Central Ashanti Gold Project (CAGP) and Ayanfuri, has 5.7 million ounces of Measured and Indicated gold resources, including reserves of 2.9Moz gold, and 2.4Moz Inferred gold resources.

A further 1.4Moz of Indicated gold resources, including 0.66Moz of Reserves, and 0.52Moz of Inferred gold resources are held on our other West African projects, Grumesa in Ghana and Tengrela in Côte d’Ivoire.

Mentos has adopted a plan for FY2014 to minimize capital investment and to maximize cash inflow without compromising the future prospects of Edikan. The Company has an experienced and focused board and management team with a track record of strong organic growth through exploration success.

Ghana - Africa's Second Largest Gold Producer - 3.6M oz of gold per year

Gold has been continuously mined in Ghana for centuries when it was part of the Mali Empire, and in more recent times when it was known as the Gold Coast. During 113 years of continuous production,Ghana's largest underground mine, AngloGold Ashanti's Obuasi, has recorded production exceeding 31M oz of Au. In the last 20 years, major and junior companies including Newmont, Kinross, Goldfields, Golden Star, Perseus and PMI Gold, have also committed significant resources to operations in the country.

Between 2009 and 2011, investment in Ghana's mining sector was $2.5 billion. The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources reports annual gold production as follows: 3.1M ounces in 2009, 3.4M in 2010 and 3.6M in 2011 - the highest ever gold production in Ghana. Exports of gold amounted to $1.5 billion alone in the first 3 months of 2012.

Ghana is a mining friendly country and features two mining colleges and a large workforce trained in the disciplines of geology, exploration methods and mining engineering. Ghana currently produces approximately 3.6M oz of gold per year, which places it as Africa's second largest gold producer after South Africa.

Ghana is politically stable with a parliamentary system and President, elections held every 4 years. It also recognizes traditional area "chief based" inputs in various high level and local governmental bodies. It is a modern developing country with strong economic ties in West Africa as well as with Europe, North America and China. It is the world's second largest cocoa producer and is emerging as an oil-producing nation from recently commissioned offshore fields.

The Outlook for Gold Miner ETFs

Current valuations for gold mining stocks and exchange traded funds are offering opportunity to investors in comparison to the metal itself. As central banks boost their gold holdings, miners will benefit as demand for the precious metal keeps rising.

“It’s at the point where gold mining stocks are trading at discounts to gold not seen in the past 30 years,” Adrian Day, portfolio manager of Day Asset Management said. He notes that gold miners have historically traded at around three or four times book value, but now trade on average at 1.4 times book value.

Profits in gold mining shares and ETFs have been compromised as labor and energy costs to extract gold have risen substantially. In turn, the lagging profits are creating more conflict within the industry. Both Barrick Gold and Kinross Gold, two of the industry’s largest domestic gold miners, have replaced their CEOs this summer as company directors seek to shift focus, reports David Sterman for Financial Advisor Magazine. The largest gold mining ETFs are a solid choice for investors seeking exposure to gold,with much upside potential. An ETF such as Market Vectors Gold Miners (NYSEArca: GDX) is established and already generate a cash flow. The junior miners are sensitive to drops in gold prices, but would outperform the larger miner funds if gold prices were to gain rapidly, reports Sterman. GDX has currently lost 24% while GDXJ has dropped 35%over the same time period. As companies are working hard to boost profitability, the miners could have plenty of upside to offer.
